What is it?

AWS' DNS (domain name system) service. It handles managing DNS records for a domain, and also acts as a domain name registrar, i.e. you can buy/manage your ownership of a domain name with it.

Why did we choose it?

Mostly for convenience, as having Deserted Chateau's DNS records managed elsewhere would just mean having more scattered infrastructure.

What do we use it for?

Managing Deserted Chateau's DNS records, pointing each CDN distribution to the correct domain, the main website's domain, and so forth.
