What is it?

A jQuery plugin that enables selecting an area of an image.

Why did we choose it?

Implementing that kind of front-end functionality can be a major pain due to differences in browsers and so forth, so this library makes that a lot easier.

What do we use it for?

Screens where a user is uploading an image that needs to be cropped, such as a profile picture or banner image, where we can then let the user select the area of the image to use.
